The family and friends of Sitthichai Pengnan put a guitar into his coffin at his funeral on Friday. The student was beaten after he refused to lend the instrument to an 18-year-old classmate. The 16-year-old was admitted to hospital on May 4 with severe head injuries after an assault by an 18-year-old classmate. Angered that Sitthichai would not lend his guitar, the youth used a wooden baton to strike him on the head three times. Thian Pengnan, his father, said tearfully that he wanted his son to be the last victim of student violence.
